Sustainability Records Smashed: TMD’s Carbon Savings Momentum Continues into 2026!

It has been a record-breaking period at Taylor Made Designs as we continue to push the boundaries of what it means to be “Caringly Responsible”.

Following a landmark year of environmental achievements in 2025, we are thrilled to report that our sustainability momentum has carried straight into the first quarter of 2026. As part of our ISO 14001 accreditation, monitoring environmental impact is incredibly important to us and these carbon savings really do stand as “proof of performance” for our commitment here.

In this issue, we’ll break down our latest carbon savings data, highlight the impact of our “End of Use” recycling programme, and showcase how we are helping our clients achieve their own green goals through innovative materials like SEAQUAL® YARN.

2025 Review: Over 5.5 Tonnes of Carbon Saved

The results for the full year of 2025 are in, and the impact is staggering. Through our various sustainability initiatives and the “End of Use” garment recycling programme, TMD achieved a total of 5,551.83kg of CO2e savings.

To put that milestone into perspective, those savings are the equivalent of:

14,138 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle
448,848 smartphones fully charged
5.6 acres of U.S. forests’ CO2 absorption in one year

12.9 barrels of oil consumed

Q1 2026: A Strong Start to the New Year

We haven’t slowed down. Between January 1st and March 31st, 2026, we have already saved an additional 1,173.68kg of CO2e. This quarter alone represents the equivalent of taking a vehicle off the road for nearly 3,000 miles or powering a home’s electricity for 0.16 years.

These figures reflect our ongoing commitment to managing the sustainable and responsible disposal of end-of-use, damaged, and out-of-date uniforms. We are proud to provide this service for some of the UK’s most iconic brands, including Haven Entertainments, Legoland Windsor Resort, Chester Zoo, and Warner Brothers Studio Tours.

Beyond Recycling: Innovation with SEAQUAL® YARN

While recycling old uniforms into furniture, insulation, and building materials is a core part of our mission, we are also focused on what goes into our garments.

Through our investment in a SEAQUAL License, we can now offer bespoke branded clothing made from SEAQUAL® YARN. This incredible material is created by gathering marine litter from our oceans and rivers, which is then processed and spun into fresh polyester yarn. It allows our clients to reduce the amount of marine plastic in the world while creating a high-quality, bespoke-branded clothing range that fits their precise specifications.

Join Us in Being “Caringly Responsible”

At TMD, we believe in constant development and the search for innovation. Whether it is our “End of Use” garment recycling programme or sourcing fabrics that meet the highest social and ethical standards (such as Ecolabel and Fairtrade), we are here to offer you the most sustainable choices to suit your needs.

Together, we can ensure that your brand identity is built on quality, performance, and a genuine care for the planet.
