As we are only too aware, the pandemic has impacted businesses all over the country and unfortunately, TMD has not escaped the ramifications this has caused.
We maintained a strong position on delivery dates throughout the whole of last year due to the decrease in the volume of orders we were processing. Then we experienced a steady rise in activity from June 2020 through to the November lockdown, which hit us hard, before December when we saw another spike in sales, only then to be hit with the next lockdown in January 2021. January and February dived to our lowest sales months on record only to be followed by another spike in March and April to pre-pandemic levels.
So as you can imagine, from a production and staffing perspective, it’s been extremely challenging managing the staffing levels with the use of the furlough scheme as well as trying to manage delivery dates.
Whilst we work through the recent volume of orders and re-group the business, we are currently working to a 2-3 week lead time on most orders.
To increase our production capacity back up to pre-pandemic levels we have already hired 4 more production & warehouse staff. We are also growing our sales support & IT team by recruiting another 4 staff in these areas of the business. So please be assured we are doing all we can as quickly as we can to re-position ourselves since some of the lockdown restrictions have been lifted and our customers re-open for business. We expect it to take about 4-6 weeks to get back to normal. During this time we would all like to apologise for any inconvenience this causes and express our sincere thanks and understanding during the ‘comeback’ period.
